Here is a video of how Prison Base was played:
Here are some videos of Knucklebones:
Historical artifacts from the Middle Ages. Vivid, colorful, and illuminating the past. Here we analyze objects, artifacts, monuments, relics, and material culture as a response to the numerous myths that circulate 'fake news' about the Middle Ages--from their belief in the flat earth (fake!) to the female lock-n-key chastity belts (fake!). In addition, this site will highlight medieval films in all their attempted history (for better or worse). Let's get medieval.
I never really considered what peasants did for fun in the Middle Ages. I love that many of the games I played as a child, like jacks, actually have an origin from the medieval era. Now to figure out how to get some knucklebones. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThat tag game looks really fun, for such a simple game. It's also kind of interesting to think that adults played games that we now think are children games.
ReplyDeleteBella,
ReplyDeleteGreat project! The videos are really fun, thanks for posting those!! :) I knew next to nothing of the games peasants played during the Middle Ages so thank you for enlightening me!
